Brown School, Hope Township, Barry County, Michigan

Location: 42.50223, -85.42837, in Bernard Historical Museum, at 7135 Delton Rd, Delton, Michigan.

Brown School was established in 1873 and then called the North Pine Lake School. It was moved onto the Brown farm in the 1920s, and subsequently moved to Delton Historical Museum (now called Bernard Historical Museum) after closing. It is a wood frame structure with 6 large windows on one side and 1 smaller window on the other side. The front has a single centered door, with smaller windows on each side of the door and tiny windows further out from those. There is bell tower with a school bell inside, and a second school bell outside in the back (that might have only been temporarily when I happened to visit in May, 2018). This building is similar to the nearby Shultz School.
