A Tourist in Rome - San Martino ai Monti

Location:Two blocks south of Santa Maria Maggiore
Metro:Cavour
Time:I can't say
Cost:Free
Hours:I don't know

San Martino ai Monti is a 9th century minor basilica. I visited this church to see the crypt and the two towers outside, but the crypt was closed when I visited, so I really don't have anything to say about the church interior. The two towers outside are covered on this page. I missed it, but apparently the left wall of the church (as you face the round apse) was leveled by stones taken from the Servian Wall. I think these stones might show at the bottom of the left side of the church in the 1st photo below, behind the parked cars.
