Boone School, Quincy Township, Branch County, Michigan

Location: 41.93876, -84.92185, at 801 E Chicago Rd, Quincy, MI.

Boone School (Quincy District No 3) is a red-brick schoolhouse built in 1881. It has a metal roof, so someone is making effort to preserve it. It is currently (2015) privately owned and up for sale as a commercial property. The schoolhouse rests on a fieldstone foundation, has 3 large windows on both sides with yellow-brick projecting-brick arches at their top, and two front doors (one is converted into a window) with those same yellow projecting-brick arches. It has projecting brickwork "columns" between all the windows and doors and on the four corners of the building, and stepped projecting brickwork running up the roof eave in the front of the building. There is a bell tower, but no visible school bell. The school identification sign is still prominent, stating "District No 3, AD 1881".
