Five Points School, Mason Township, Cass County, Michigan

Location: withheld since this is now a private residence.

Five Points School (Mason District No 4) was first a log cabin built in about 1862. On January 18, 1869 a special tax in the sum of $1000 was passed to build a new brick schoolhouse during the summer of 1869, and that is the building still standing now. The school was still open in 1949, but I don't know when after that it closed. The building was remodeled into a home and new siding was installed in 1999 covering the brick building.
