Merle Beach School, Olive Township, Clinton County, Michigan
Merle Beach School (Muskrat Lake School, Olive District No 3), is a wooden schoolhouse built in 1865, and closed 101 years later in 1966. It was subsequently used for storage. The school had 3 windows on one side, and only 1 on the other side. A single centered front door had a large window and a small window on either side. There is still a bell tower but no bell. The schoolhouse in terrible shape, with a collapsed roof among its many problems, and the property was for sale in 2017.
