I can't find any information on Frost School, also called Lafayette District No 5, except that it's now privately owned. It's a rectangular wood frame structure, with a very long addition in the front which was probably the school's vestibule and cloak rooms. There are 5 large windows on the left (south) side, and none on the right (north) side. Around 1920, this was the Michigan state recommendation for windows in schoolhouses - put all the windows on the left side of the students rather than some on each side, so that right-handed writers will have their work illuminated. The bell tower is intact but empty. There are two front doors, probably one for boys and one for girls. The placement of the chimney suggests the pot-belly stove was in the front of the schoolroom, against the vestibule wall.
