New Adams School (Sigel District No 3) is a reddish-brown-sided one-room two-teacher schoolhouse built in 1988 and still in use, with about 20 students in grades K-8. The bell tower is still equipped with a school bell that is still used, and playground equipment is visible behind the school. The wooden building was erected in 1988 to replace a building from the early 1900s which is now a local museum, and the parents of the students did much of the construction work themselves. Substitute teachers willing to teach 9 grades simultaneously are hard to come by, so the school often closes when the teachers are sick, with make-up days in the spring. The school has two computers for the 20 students which include internet access.
