Red Brick School, Clinton Township, Lenawee County, Michigan

Location: withheld since this is now a private residence.

Red Brick School was built 1848 and is now a private residence. I could find no information about it. However, because of its name, I suspect the brick portion of this L-shaped building is the original schoolhouse, and all the wood parts which have red shingle siding were added on when this was converted into a house. So the brick part is a rectangular building with 3 large windows on each side and resting on a fieldstone foundation. The front face is covered by an addition (which might have been a cloak room for the school, or might have been added during the residential conversion). There is still a bell tower, with a school bell inside.
