Dayton District No 3 School, Dayton Township, Tuscola County, Michigan

Location: 43.33714, -83.31314, east of the intersection of Mayville Rd and Clifford Rd.

This red-brick schoolhouse has fallen into disrepair. It's bell-tower has been chopped off, the roof is in poor condition, and there are broken windows. However, it's located right next to a farmhouse, has the grass surrounding it mowed, and has fairly new landscaping in front, giving me hope that the schoolhouse will be saved. The schoolhouse is on a fieldstone foundation, and there is some nice brickwork detailing above the windows, doors, and around the still-existing school identification sign above the front door. The last photo below, showing the back of the schoolhouse, shows that it was/is used as a garage, perhaps for farm equipment.
