A Tourist in Rome - Alexander Severus

Birth:October 1 208 AD
Death:March 19/22 235 AD
Emperor:222-235

Alexander Severus was the last emperor from the Severan Dynasty. He succeeded his assassinated cousin Elagabalus in 222. He was eventually assassinated by his own insubordinate troops, and his death marked the beginning of the events of the Third Century Crisis — which included nearly fifty years of civil war, foreign invasion, and the collapse of the monetary economy.
