Death:September 282 AD
Emperor:276-282

Probus was a successful military leader and a good administrator. In his reign of 6 years as emperor, he increased the prosperity for the main body of the empire, and withstood repeated invasions of the borders by barbarians. While preparing for a war against Persia, his troops killed him in a mutiny.
