Today the belltower of the church of San Francesco di Paola, Torre Borgia was originally built in the 12th century. The slits in the tower suggest a defensive purpose. The travertine corbels near the top of the tower were added at the end of the 15th century. The tower faces another medieval tower, the Torre degli Annibaldi.
