Livia Drusilla was Augustus' wife and adviser, and mother of Tiberius, grandmother of Claudius, great-grandmother of Caligula, and great-great-grandmother of Nero. Watch "I, Claudius" sometime; it expounds the point of view that Livia really ruled the Roman Empire from about 10 AD, a few years before the death of Augustus, until her own death in 29 AD. It portrays her as a superbly dislikable manipulator.
