A Tourist in Rome - Domitian

Birth:October 24, 51 AD
Death:September 18, 96 AD (assassinated)
Emperor:81 AD - death

Domitian had few accomplishments before he became emperor when his older brother, Titus died, but once he became emperor he effectively managed the economy, began a spree of construction and repair in Rome on a scale never before seen, held magnificent games, and was very popular with the people. However his tendency toward isolation and his policy of treating the upper class as equals to all Romans earned him the contempt of the upper class, which eventually assassinated him.
